Product Overview

Low Head Socket Cap Screw sourcing essentials

DIN 7984 low head socket cap screws have a cylindrical head substantially shorter than DIN 912. They fit machinery, slides, fixtures, and compact assemblies where countersinking is not possible but normal socket head clearance is unavailable. The reduced head and drive require lower tightening torque than a standard socket head cap screw.

Photos and required reports are organized before consolidated loading and export documentation.

Buyer Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is DIN 7984 interchangeable with DIN 912?

The thread may fit, but the screws are not performance-equivalent. DIN 7984 has a lower head and smaller drive, so its permitted tightening torque and preload are lower. Substitute only after checking head clearance and required clamp load.

When should I choose a low head instead of a countersunk socket screw?

Choose DIN 7984 when head height is limited but the mating component should not be countersunk. Choose DIN 7991 or ISO 10642 when the finished head must be flush with the surface and a correctly machined countersink is available.
