Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about sourcing fasteners from HDBolt. Click any question to expand the answer. If you don't see your question here, please get in touch.

Where is HDBolt located?

HDBolt is based in Yongnian District, Handan, Hebei, China — the largest fastener manufacturing cluster in China. We are physically present in the cluster, not a remote office or generic trading company.

Are you a factory?

No. HDBolt is an independent fastener sourcing and export partner. We work with vetted local manufacturers in Yongnian and surrounding clusters. We are honest about this — pretending to be a factory when you are not is a problem that doesn't survive any serious customer background check.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

MOQ varies by product. For commodity hex bolts and nuts in zinc plating, we can typically arrange 100–200 kg per size from stock when consolidating an order. For production-to-order, MOQ is typically 500–1000 kg per size. For custom drawings, MOQ is usually 5000+ pieces. Tell us what you need and we'll quote what's actually available.

What are your typical lead times?

For stocked items: 7–15 days from order to container loading. For production-to-order: 15–30 days. For custom drawings: 30–45 days including tooling preparation. Sea freight transit then varies by destination — 25–35 days to U.S. East Coast, 18–25 days to U.S. West Coast, 30–45 days to most European ports, 12–18 days to Southeast Asia.

What payment terms do you accept?

For new customers and standard orders: 30% T/T deposit, 70% before shipment. For established relationships: 30% deposit, 70% against B/L copy. We can also accept L/C at sight for larger orders. We do not require unusual or non-standard payment arrangements.

Do you provide pre-shipment inspection?

Yes — pre-shipment inspection is standard on every order, included in our service. We perform dimensional checks, surface finish verification, packaging confirmation, and photograph representative samples. For structural-grade material, we collect Mill Test Certificates from the factory. For larger orders, we are happy to coordinate with third-party inspection companies (SGS, Bureau Veritas, etc.) if you require independent verification.

Can you supply Mill Test Certificates?

Yes. For ASTM A325/A490 structural bolts, ASTM A193 B7 / A320 L7 stud bolts, ASTM F1554 anchor rods, and any other specification-grade material, MTC 3.1 per heat lot is included as standard. We do not ship structural material without MTC.

What ports do you ship from?

Tianjin Port is our primary shipping point — it's approximately 480 km from Yongnian by road, with regular trucking. We can also arrange shipment from Qingdao or Shanghai for specific destinations or freight rates.

Do you handle export documentation?

Yes. Standard export documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin (Form A, FTA, or general C/O depending on destination), and any product-specific certificates (MTC, fumigation if required, etc.). We coordinate with freight forwarders and ensure documents are correct before shipment.

Can you supply private label or customer-branded packaging?

Yes. Customer-branded blister packs, color cartons, retail boxes, and master carton labels are common arrangements. Minimum quantities for custom retail packaging typically start at a few thousand pieces per SKU. Generic plain packaging is available at lower quantities.

How do you handle quality issues after delivery?

We stand behind every shipment. If a quality issue is identified after delivery — wrong size, finish defect, dimensional out of tolerance — we work with you to resolve: replacement on next shipment, credit, or refund depending on severity and circumstances. We document and trace every issue back to the source factory; we don't just absorb costs and move on.

Do you only work with U.S. and European customers?

No. We work with customers globally — North America, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America. Different markets have different documentation and certification requirements; we adapt to each.
