Hex Flange Nut (DIN 6923 / DIN 6927)
A hex flange nut has an integrated washer-like flange under the body, eliminating the need for a separate flat washer. The serrated variant (DIN 6923) provides additional anti-loosening grip on the mating surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are serrated flange nuts considered locking nuts?
They provide useful resistance to loosening on softer mating surfaces (mild steel, painted surfaces) where the serrations bite in, but they are not classified as 'prevailing-torque' locking nuts in the strict sense. For critical anti-vibration applications, use a nylon insert lock nut, all-metal locknut, or wedge-lock washer.
