Frequently Asked Questions
Why are weld nuts plain (uncoated) in the weld area?
Plating, oil, or any coating in the weld area would interfere with electrical contact during projection welding and produce poor weld quality. Weld nuts are typically supplied uncoated. Coating, if needed, is applied after the weld is made.
