Chipboard / Particle Board Screw (Spax-style)
Chipboard screws (or 'Euro-style' wood screws) are the general-purpose modern screw for wood and engineered wood products. Sharp point, aggressive full thread, countersunk head with under-head ribs that cut into the wood for clean pull-down. Pozidriv (PZ2/PZ3) or Torx (T20/T25) drive replaces the older Phillips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Pozidriv or Torx instead of Phillips?
Phillips drive is designed to cam out at high torque (originally a feature, to prevent over-tightening of older screws). Modern chipboard screws need much higher driving torque without slipping; Pozidriv reduces cam-out and Torx eliminates it. Using a Phillips bit on a Pozidriv screw will quickly wreck both.
