Buyer Questions
Frequently asked questions
Type A vs Type AB self-tapping screws — what's the difference?
Type A has a coarse thread suited to thin sheet metal (typically up to about 1.6 mm). Type AB has a sharper point and a higher-performing thread design that combines features of Type A and Type B; it's increasingly the default for thin sheet metal applications. Type B has a blunt point and is for thicker sheet.
