Buyer Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much torque can be applied by hand to a thumb screw?
For a typical 5-10 mm knurled head, hand torque is on the order of 0.3-1.5 Nm. This is suitable for light clamping but not for any structural connection. Specifically design the assembly so hand torque is sufficient — don't substitute thumb screws for properly torqued connections.
